Chaos & Order

The world is big as it is small,
life—short as it is long.
The contradictions are as meaningful
as they are not. And
the Earth keeps spinning until it can’t,
though when that will be, no one can say.
I say: Keep wishing on a star.
Fling pennies in the fountain.
Retell the future with the click of a tongue.
Call on Higher Powers, the highest power:
the hope of tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow—
